Speculations on Post-Fidel Cuba

The LA Times ran an AP story on what some people are predicting will happen when Fidel dies - Democracy. Fidel's two brothers continue to claim that the Cuban dictator is recovering from his illness and will soon take back command of the island. But U.S. intelligence says otherwise. President Bush and many others are hoping that when Fidel dies, it will be the end of an era and not just a transfer of power from one ruthless dictator to the next. I wish I could be as optimistic.
